Sometimes artists make a thing that matters to them more than all the other things. It is a rare experience when I am captivated by my own work, but I cannot stop looking at this print. I have decided to "buy" one of the edition and donate to Dian Fossey's fund for gorilla protection. I love them. I am captivated by them. Their gentleness. Their shyness. Their strength. Their fun personalities. Their sense of community and family. It is a devestating fact that there are only little over 1000 Mountain Gorilla that exist on our Earth. They are critically endangered. Funds such as Fossey's help against anti-poaching and illegal activities that further endanger the species. It is my hope I can help bring more awareness through my art and images like this one for individuals to become more involved. (photo credit: David Shaw)
